Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy utilizes the naturally-occurring hypnotic trance state to create positive changes in the subconscious and conscious levels of mind. Therapeutic hypnosis is achieved through a combination of guided voice, sensory-rich imagery, body cues, breath awareness, and intention-setting on both the part of the hypnotherapist and the client. Hypnotherapy is an empowering method of therapy for comforting an overwhelmed or exhausted nervous system, for creating behavioral shifts towards greater wellness and positive self-control, and relief from emotional, mental, or physical tension or pain. Common goals for hypnotherapy include: stress relief, better sleep, freedom from smoking or vaping, weight management, exercise motivation, other performance goals (golf, tennis, public speaking, etc), relief from phobias (fear of flying, fear of driving, fear of needles/medical procedures, health anxiety, etc), support during times of transitions and changes - for example, maternal health to support mothers pre- and post-partum; as well as, support for a client on a cancer journey before, during, or after treatment. Hypnotherapy is a side effect-free and low-cost approach that has been found to enhance traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Each session involves learning easy-to-use self-hypnosis techniques and each session is recorded to provide a personalized audio file for reinforcement at home.
